Post-IFAB meeting press conference

A press conference will follow the IFAB Special Meeting, which will take place in Zurich on Thursday 5 July 2012. You will be able to follow this press conference, scheduled to begin at the earliest at 16:30 CET (subject to changes, depending on the length of the IFAB meeting) live on video on FIFA.com from this article.

Goal-line technology, additional assistant referees and the wearing of headscarves by female players will be the three main topics discussed at the IFAB Special Meeting, which is a follow-up to the IFAB General Meeting held in March (see full agenda in the PDF on the right). After this meeting, the press conference will be streamed live on FIFA.com.

FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter will participate, as well as the FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke, the Scottish FA General Secretary Stewart Regan, the Irish FA General Secretary Patrick Nelson, the Wales FA General Secretary Jonathan Ford, and the English FA General Secretary Alex Horne.

Having watched most of UEFA Euro 2012, I think the AARs are a no-go. More officials equals more people to get the decisions wrong. If GLT is approved, presumably it would have to be used in every match for a competition (for example, it couldn't be used on ONLY the FA Cup Final, it would have to be used from the Extra Preliminary Round onwards.
