FIFA World Cup success at home

On 7 July 1974 West Germany were crowned world champions for the second time. In front of their own fans in Munich, the hosts beat the Netherlands 2-1 and became the first side ever to lift the new FIFA World Cup™ trophy.

In this edition of FIFA.com’s Video of the Week, German legends such as Franz Beckenbauer and Paul Breitner look back on the tournament on home territory that did not start well, but ended with triumph in Munich’s Olympiastadion.
