Hamsik extends Napoli stay

Attacking midfielder Marek Hamsik has signed a three-year contract extension with Serie A club Napoli on Thursday.

The Slovakian international, whose previous deal was due to run out at the end of next season, has signed on until 2016. The 24-year-old joined Napoli in 2007 from Brescia, whom he joined in 2004 when he was just 17-years-old.

Hamsik has played more than 50 times for his country and has made more than 200 appearances for the southern Italians.
